Yep. Freshman and Sophomore years are extremely important, too.
In those two years, I took electric shop, automotive shop, machine shop, sheet metal shop, welding shop, and drafting, as well as physics. These courses were all important to my major, aviation, so during our Junior and Senior years, we could concentrate on our majors.
So, as I graduated, I had more shop and pre-engineering experience under my belt, than many community college students have. Again, I had enough training from my four years at Benson, that my skills were truly marketable. When I joined the military, and took a huge battery of tests, I was qualified to enter any field I could choose.
Making Benson a two year magnet school is not a worthwhile shortcut.
WAYNO.
