Benson gets boost from Oregon Legislature

It was recently announced that PPS would receive nearly $350k to improve its career technical education offerings or CTE as its widely known today. Thanks to Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian’s legislation, the State of Oregon has awarded grants totaling $20 million to schools across the state. Also, thanks to BPHSAA Chairman, Rob Johns ’77, who was heavily involved in the crafting of PPS’ successful grant application.

PPS’ grant proposal included several initiatives that will benefit Benson, such as expanding the “Tech Geometry” program (a Geometry/Construction hybrid class) and exploring a system for allowing juniors and seniors from other PPS High Schools to co-enroll at Benson in some form.
